Lonsdale IFA's offers free services to help people with their financial planning
Friday 1 July, 2016
At Lonsdale Services educating our clients is our priority before providing any individual financial advice that we charge for. However, we believe that all independent financial advisers have a responsibility to educate so we offer many financial services that are free and available to anyone.
Lonsdale Services pension seminars - free financial planning available
As we were finding some of our clients were confused about their pension and inheritance tax options we organised several seminars in St Albans and Barnet to explain how the recent changes in financial legislation affects you. Our seminars are free and we advertise them in the local community so anyone can attend. Feedback has been excellent and we are due to host more in the autumn.
Lonsdale Services offer free financial planning guides and brochures
We also have several retirement guides that are available to read and download free of charge from our website. To help understand how the new ‘Freedom & Choice in Pensions’ affects you, we have put together a brochure with fact sheets on the retirement issues to consider at different stages of your life - Your Retirement Options: Freedom & Choice - before, at and in retirement. We also have a retirement guide that provides information on all your retirement options. Our Lifetime Financial Planning brochure explains the importance of cash flow modelling in financial planning, and offers advice on how to set up your own plan.
Simon Armstrong, Independent financial adviser St Albans gives generic financial advice pro-bono at Citizen Advice Bureau
Lonsdale Services also fully endorse the Personal Finance Society’s campaign to get more financial advisers to give generic financial advice pro-bono as part of the MoneyPlan project. Simon Armstrong, an independent financial adviser in our St Albans office currently gives up half a day a month of his time to work at the Luton Citizen Advice Bureau.
Neil Homer, independent financial adviser, Stafford said:
‘We hope anyone visiting our website, www.lonsdaleservices.co.uk will find our literature useful, or sign up to attend a free pension or inheritance tax planning seminar. If people require free investment advice we recommend they also visit The Money Advice Service, The Pension Advisory Service and Pension Wise.’
