Lonsdale Services -Offering a ‘business as usual’ financial planning service

Thursday 14 January, 2021

If you need financial advice in lockdown please contact your local Lonsdale Wealth Management financial adviser in St Albans, Harpenden, Ware, Stafford, North London, Leeds/Bradford and Ringwood.  We are offering a ‘business as usual’ service from all our offices for new and existing clients.

Our clients have adapted to video conferencing and online meetings

Although our financial advisers can’t currently meet clients in person and are generally working from home, we regularly conduct video conferencing meetings to complete client reviews. Our online financial planning review service or new business meeting is the same as a ‘face to face’ meeting and clients have adapted to working online, so we can both securely view key financial information such as a client’s cashflow plan.

Clients that have used our online service are pleased with it.  Some of our older clients prefer it, as they can conduct the review meeting in their own home at a time of their choosing.  Some clients commented that the colours on their cashflow planning are brighter online, so it is easier to read.  We are now conducting all new business and client annual reviews and ad hoc meetings via Microsoft TEAMS or Skype.

If a client can’t access an online meeting, we will call them and offer financial planning advice over the phone.

Using DocuSign to complete some online forms securely

We are also using online forms, where possible by verifying e-signatures and asking clients to scan copies of the original documents.  We appreciate that this isn’t always possible for some clients, and there are currently some providers who can’t accept it.  We use DocuSign as it has additional security regarding the signatories.  It generates a certificate on completion which has a full audit trail attached.  This shows which email addresses the document has been sent to.

Personal Finance Portal/Encrypted emails for secure messaging and documentation

All Lonsdale Wealth Management clients are encouraged to set up a Personal Finance Portal (PFP) from Intelliflo, as a secure way to exchange financial information with us.  Our clients can quickly get in touch and have the peace of mind that the information they share is private and encrypted.

We have upgraded our email security and have introduced encrypted emails through an Email Security Service.  This allows us to encrypt any sensitive data we may send to you by email.

Using paper and posting documents securely

Our financial advisers regularly visit their offices so they can always process post in a timely way. We collect post and process paper-based work regularly, normally each working day.

Simon Hawker, Managing Director, Lonsdale Services, St Albans, Hertfordshire said:

‘Our financial planning teams are offering clients a ‘business as usual’ service, although this is now online rather than in person, our independent financial advisers are always available to discuss financial planning issues over the phone.

Our financial planners have developed long-term partnerships with many of our financial planning clients.  During the pandemic our investment consultants have also been available to help clients with general financial issues, for example: how to set up and review their will, advice on setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney or information on how to avoid an investment scam.  For more information read: Allan Ross – How we help clients with practical financial planning.
