Lonsdale Trekkers raise £1200 of £1,500 target for Alzheimer’s Society
Friday 8 June, 2018
The Lonsdale team are raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society by joining the Alzheimer’s Trek26 challenge to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks on 30th June. The Lonsdale trekkers have currently raised £1200 of their £1,500 fundraising target. You can support them at our corporate fundraising page.
Deb Nolan and Tracy Gannon from the Leeds financial planning team have signed up to walk the Yorkshire Three peaks with Allan Ross, independent financial adviser in Ware, and Simon Hawker and Steve Cook our financial advisers in St Albans.
Deb Nolan, independent financial adviser and member of the Leeds / Bradford financial planning team said:
‘Tracy and I have been enjoying the great weather by completing some well-known Yorkshire walks to prepare for Trek26. Tracy enjoyed the scenery on her recent walk around Flamborough Head. I practiced some hill walking by taking the family up to Ilkley Moor last weekend, and we have more walks planned before the big day! We have been amazed at the generosity of our friends, family and clients and we are now eighty percent of the way towards our fundraising total with three weeks to go.’
Allan Ross, independent financial adviser, and member of the Ware financial planning team said:
‘Training is going well and I am looking forward to joining my Lonsdale colleagues on Trek26 on the 30th June. We’re just short of a few hills in Hertfordshire, so climbing the three peaks might be tough! Like Deb I have been overwhelmed by the donations we have received from our clients. Everyone has been really generous and seem to appreciate us spending our free time raising money for such a good cause.’
According to The Alzheimer’s Society the Yorkshire Three Peaks is ‘a classic UK trekking challenge.’ The Lonsdale trekkers will start and finish the trek at Horton in Ribblesdale. The route will take them up and down the mountains of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Inglesborough. Highlights along the way include the Grade II listed Ribblehead Viaduct (built in the 1870s), the village of Chapel-le-Dale and views of Morecambe Bay.
Lonsdale Wealth Management became the first financial adviser in Hertfordshire to become a corporate partner of Alzheimer’s Society. Lonsdale nominated Alzheimer’s Society as our charity of choice and Allan Ross, member of the Ware financial planning team and Mandy Morgan, Bookkeeper and Administrator in St Albans have worked with Lonsdale colleagues to raise awareness of Dementia internally. Some of our clients are affected by Dementia and some Lonsdale colleagues have experienced Dementia first-hand within their own family.
