Simon Hawker IFA St Albans – Lonsdale Administrators’ Training Day
Friday 20 October, 2017
On Thursday 12th October Lonsdale Wealth Management organised their first half day Administrators’ Training Day with lunch for fifteen Lonsdale colleagues. Simon Hawker independent financial adviser and member of the St Albans financial planning team presented our existing client review process, and Allan Ross independent financial adviser Ware and Lonsdale’s Dementia Friends Champion conducted a Dementia Friends training session.
Simon Hawker, Independent Financial Adviser and Managing Director of Lonsdale Services said:
‘We organised the training day to communicate our improved client review process. We recently standardised this process to improve the client service we offer by incorporating best practice from all our offices. We have also incorporated changes required by Mifid II legislation which will be in place from 3rd January 2018, and new data protection legislation coming into force from May 2018. The training session was well timed as we have recently had three new colleagues join our administrative team. Welcome to Paulette Dallas and Jack Farrell who have joined the Barnet, North London office, and Debbie Armstrong who is working with my colleagues in the St Albans office.’

Allan Ross, independent financial adviser and member of the Ware financial planning team said:
‘I qualified as a Dementia Friend in May 2017 having attended their induction day. I then presented the Dementia Friends talk to my financial consultant colleagues at our bi-monthly meeting in July. Our Lonsdale administrators have now heard the Dementia Friends talk and I hope they will want to sign up and become a Dementia Friend. Lonsdale Services has a vulnerable client policy in place, but I originally attended the training day as some of my clients are older so I have witnessed the onset of dementia first-hand, and worked with families that are supporting loved ones with dementia. As we see our clients once or twice a year we are in a position to spot any changes in our clients, and this training helps our Lonsdale colleagues understand how to spot dementia signs. Lonsdale Wealth Management became the first financial adviser in Hertfordshire to become a corporate partner of Alzheimer’s Society in June 2017. Dementia Friends collecting tins will soon be in all our offices, and we are planning to fundraise for the charity next year.
